Life After X – YouTube has given me new friends

Plumes sings with the animals – See Video compilation below

Good Friday morning beloved sentients. Lots of subscribers have asked me what I’ve been doing online since I got the “X” monkey off my back late last year. Actually, nobody has asked me that question and in fact I hear from nobody on this site anymore.

Anyhooooooooo….I have been enjoying some new friends and experiences on YouTube which, much to my surprise, has really grown in the decade or so since I last posted videos on my own Greencrow YouTube account. I can’t even find that old YouTube account anymore–but have started a new one @Greencrow2562 which I use to collect my new subscriptions.

Here is one below….a French singer who calls himself “Plumes” and sings to the animals. Enjoy this magical compilation of his videos below:

Plumes seranades his Giraffe audience

Plumes has a lovely, sweet singing voice and style and his playlist is enigmatic. He sings to the animals in a way that causes them to step out of their earthly bodies for a few moments and join in a universal celebration of music. Enjoy!

I will continue to post a couple or more of my other newfound friends accounts which I highly recommend. I will also give my reasons for choosing to subscribe to these accounts

Vasya in the Hay is a Russian YouTube channel that documents the experiences of Sergei, a Russian man as he visits the poor and disabled throughout the Russian countryside and tries to brighten their lives by fulfilling their “dreams”.

I got hooked on this channel as a retired social worker. The homes he visits are similar to the ones I met my clients in. As Jesus said: “The poor we will always have with us.” It’s just how we respond to this reality that defines us as individuals and as a species.

AT Restoration is an account held by a Master Woodworker from Estonia

This guy is very interesting. Enigmatic and short on words he does magic with old furniture–turning each decrepit piece into a work of art suitable for a furniture museum. Watching his videos is very therapeutic–and addictive!

Finally I will present the YouTube channel that got me started on this new adventure. My daughter in law introduced me to Country Life Vlog. This channel documents the daily life of a family living in the mountains of Azerbaijan.

You will get to know the entire family…from the star Mama the great cook down to the pesky crow that bothers her as she cooks up a storm for her family, neighbors and friends. The two cats and the rabbits are also highly engaging. Again this is a therapeutic channel that will calm your nerves and get you out of your geopolitical mindbox prison.

Mama with her latest creation! All her cooking is done outdoors on a wood stove–summer and winter!

Greencrow concludes: One thing in common with all the videos is that there is little talking and a lot of “doing”. The Vasya in the Hay channel has the most talking–but a large part of it is the voices of the voiceless poor in the abandoned Russian villages. So, if you like these channels I invite you to subscribe to them. All of them will improve your mental health except possibly the Vasya in the Hay channel which can really open your eyes to the mundane horror of some people’s daily lives. But as we used to say in the social work business–somebody’s got to do it. Perhaps watch an AT Restoration video right after the Vasya in the Hay video just as an antidote.

Stay tuned.
