Good Morning Beloved Sentients! It’s a below freezing, very snowy day on the Malahat. We had about 6 inches of powder snow yesterday. I was thinking some people come from around the world to see the vistas I can enjoy from every window of our cabin.
The dust is still settling from all the sturm and drang over the Trump War on Canada via Tariffs. I went on X yesterday and “crowed” my victory. I was the only one I am aware of at least amoungst the Canadian regular posters who was in favour of the tough stance against the US and not trying to “negotiate” with Trump–as all the other Canadians wanted to do. I was really suprised at some of the posters who caved. People I really thought were strongly patriotic…suddenly just wanted to give the store away.
Here is one of the last posts I put on X before the news came out yesterday around noon our time that Trump had backed down and was going to give Mexico and Canada 30 days to come up with “solutions to the border issue”.
***********
“Trump can make a big deal out of Canada having Canada Geese flying over the US and pooping if he wants to…and the way Trump’s lying…I expect this to happen any moment.
Americans have a real problem on their hands. A compulsively lying President. How many lies has Trump told so far? Let me see:
1. The lie about the fentanyl. Less than 1% of fentanyl in the US comes over the border from Canada.
2. The lie about the illegal immigrants also less than 1% came from Canada. BTW Each country is responsible for its own borders. Canada is NOT responsible for the American border.
3. The lie about the banks – turns out many US banks operate in Canada
4. The lie about Canada’s supposed indebtedness to the US. Trump said we cost the US $250 billion a year but statistics say the trade imbalance is only $40 billion plus is offset by the deal we give the US on energy
5. The lie that Canada has no sovereignty. Canada gave our lives in two world wars and other wars for NATO. According to the British North American Act we have more sovereignty than the US who’s owned by Israel.”
***************
Greencrow continues. I forgot quite a few other Trump lies including the MAGA lie that the US does not need anything that Canada has for sale. The US desperately needs our energy and our lumber and our raw minerals…and many other products.
It was shocking to me that Canadians and intelligent Americans could not see the parallel between Trump’s explanation to Denmark [for instance] as to why the US wanted Greenland “We Need it.” and Hitler’s “liebensraum” policy before WWII.
Lebensraum
(German pronunciation: [ˈleːbənsˌʁaʊm] ⓘ, living space) is a German concept of expansionism and Völkisch nationalism, the philosophy and policies of which were common to German politics from the 1890s to the 1940s. First popularized around 1901,[2] Lebensraum became a geopolitical goal of Imperial Germany in World War I (1914–1918), as the core element of the Septemberprogramm of territorial expansion…”

Greencrow continues. Apparently the idea of the German Liebensraum had been around since the beginning of the 19th century and was inspired by the American dogma of “manifest destiny”.
As I said on X, I thought the entire Trump Tariff Sturm and Drang was interesting–in that it revealed several cracks in the Canadian geopolitical chattering classes. So many, shockingly, were ready, willing and able to give Canada away to the US for the “privilege” of being the “”51st State”. From now, on I’m refer to these yellow bellies as “51st Staters” and I will remember exactly who they are. According to one poster on X this morning…they’re all going around busily deleting their stupid tweets. But I’ll remember because, to my knowledge, I was the only Canadian X’er who stood up for Canada . Northerntruthseeker, my blogging compatriot, agreed on this issue but, alas, NTS doesn’t go on X, so I fought the battle alone.
Of course, it’s far from over. The US will continue to pummel and pummel Canada hoping we will give up the store for nothing. They will never see that, because they are owned by Ziofascist Israel, they’re entirely isolated in the world. Nobody wants them to get any more land–just like nobody wanted Hitler to get any more land. The world’s just waiting for the US to go bankrupt, then presumably the parasite will abandon the hollowed-out host. The world is hoping that–as Israel always threatens–The US will not bring the entire world down with it [like Samson brought the Temple down See: The Samson Option]
Atonement
I said in previous posts that Canada should still make a formal complaint to the United Nations about the threats made by Trump. These existential threats to Canada:
1 Canada has no sovereignty
2 Canada needs to become the US 51’s State
Constitute a breech of the UN Charter. Canada [like Panama did] must get it on the official record that the US breeched the Charter and that Canada regards it as a war-like act.
IMO, Canada also needs to post Canadian soldiers at every border crossing between Canada and the United States. These soldiers need to be in full uniform and carrying rifles. They need to stay at the borders until Canada receives a formal apology and retraction from the United States State Department for Trump’s threats. There’s no purpose in trying to extract an apology from Trump. I believe he, like Biden, is in some stage of dementia. The formal apology from the US State Department should read in part that the US acknowledges that Canada, according to the British North America Act of 1867 is a sovereign state with all the borders/territories declared at the time the British Parliament passed that Act. The United States cannot play fast and loose with international law anymore because every other nation in the world knows if the US gets away with it–they will be next.
If and when Donald Trump ever comes up to Canada again the first place he should be required to visit is the Ottawa National War Memorial–where he should place a wreath as an apology to the memory of the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who gave their lives for Canada.

Greencrow Concludes: Last week, when it appeared that Trump was going to win the day and perhaps even, as he threatened, “double the tariff’–and I was deep in angst, writing alone amongst X’ers about how Canada should stiffen our spines and stay the course–I channeled a Canadian hero from my youth–the French Canadian Commander, Adam Dollard des Ormeaux.
Adam Dollard des Ormeaux (July 23, 1635 – May 21, 1660) is an iconic figure in the history of New France (modern day Quebec). Arriving in the colony in 1658, Dollard was appointed the position of garrison commander of the fort of Ville-Marie (now Montreal). In the spring of 1660, Dollard led an expedition up the Ottawa River to wage war on the Iroquois. Accompanied by seventeen Frenchmen, Dollard arrived at the foot of Long Sault (near present-day Carillon, Quebec) on May 1 and settled his troops at an abandoned Algonquin fort.[1] He was then joined by forty Huron and four Algonquin allies.[2] Vastly outnumbered by the Iroquois, Dollard and his companions died at the Battle of Long Sault somewhere between May 9 and May 12, 1660. The exact nature or purpose of Dollard’s 1660 expedition is uncertain; however, most historians agree that Dollard set out to conduct a “petite guerre” (ambush) against the Iroquois, in order to delay (or prevent altogether) their imminent attack on Ville-Marie.[3] For these reasons, Dollard is regarded as one of the saviors of New France.[4]

As a child reading that story in school, I thrilled at the heroism of Dollard des Ormeaux–who willingly stood his ground, fought the Indians, gave his life and saved the small colony of Montreal, New France. As I recall, the earlier versions of the story “Heroes of the Long Sault” contained a harrowing blow-by-blow account of his battle along the rapids of the Long Sault. It was the first time I ever felt proud of my heritage as a Canadian and how our ancestors fought tooth and nail–and even succumbed to cannibalism to give us this spectacular land–Canada.
Stay tuned.
