Good Friday afternoon beloved sentients. This week has been an historic watershed year in North American geopolitics. This was the week when the little brother finally punched out the bully big brother and left him flat on his ass.
When Trump threatened 50% tariffs on Canada six weeks or so ago I have to admit I was a bit afraid. It seemed that the bully was invincible and that Canada would be smashed like a bug on the windshield of a car going 120 KM per hour.
But, then, a few days ago the worm suddenly turned.

Trump In Shock After Iran Invited To Join Historic Mecca Defense Pact

A global paradigm shifting new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting President Donald Trump envoy to the Middle East and son-in-law Jared Kushner held an emergency meeting with Democratic House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries, says the meeting of these bitter enemies was joined with the news: “The outlook for the Middle East war remains grim, the U.S. just threatened Iran with the toughest sanctions in history, and the world is running out of stored fuels…To make matters worse, refining capacity is down considerably, and even if the outlook for the war suddenly changed and the U.S. and Iran made peace, the fuel squeeze will last for months—and so will its adverse effects on the global economy”.
While both sides of the bitter American political divide stare down a global economic collapse being caused by the Iran war, this report notes, the Times of Israel revealed a few hours ago: “President Donald Trump spoke with Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir last week ahead of Munir’s trip to Tehran today, three Pakistani sources reveal, with one saying the main US request was to bring Iran back to negotiations…The call, which has not been previously reported, was initiated by Trump, according to two Pakistani sources”—a revelation joined by world-renowned retired CIA senior analyst Larry Johnson, in his intelligence report “Not An Islamic NATO: The Mecca Agreement Is Building The Post-American Security Architecture — And Iran Is About To Walk In”, factually documenting:
Pakistan’s chief of army staff and the real architect of Islamabad’s regional strategy — is in Iran. The subject of his talks is Iran’s accession to the Mecca agreement as its fourth member.
The Western commentariat filed the Mecca agreement under a comfortable heading. When Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement on August 7 — an armed attack on one to be treated as an attack on all — the reflexive label was “Islamic NATO”, a Sunni bloc, three of the Muslim world’s largest militaries welded together by sectarian identity.
That reading was obsolete almost before the ink dried.
What is actually taking shape is not a Sunni alliance against Iran. It is the first load-bearing beam of the post-American security architecture that Russia and China have been calling for — and Tehran is about to walk through the door.
The Mecca agreement was sold to Western audiences as a Sunni bloc and dismissed as a club of American clients.
It is neither.
It is the first pillar of the security architecture Putin and Wang Yi named this spring after sitting with Iran’s foreign minister — a regionally led, Russia- and China-backed framework that folds Iran in as a legitimate power and pushes the United States out as the indispensable one.
When Asim Munir walks into Tehran on Monday to discuss Iran’s membership, and negotiates a tenfold expansion of trade in the same breath, he is not conducting two errands. He is laying two courses of the same wall.
The Americans built their Gulf position on keeping Sunni and Shia apart and keeping the dollar in the middle.
Both pillars are being pulled at once — and the structure going up in their place was drawn in Moscow and Beijing.
Along with a shocked President Trump being urged to order a ground invasion of Iran or back away entirely, this report concludes, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov declared to all members of the historic Mecca Defense Pact: “If requested, Russia is ready to support mediation efforts both to end the aggression against Iran and more broadly to maintain stability in the Middle East, including within the framework of the updated security concept in the Persian Gulf that we are promoting”

Folks…I thought what happened above was enough drama for a year–much less for a couple of weeks…but, just a couple of days ago we had the buffoonery where Trump trolled Ontario Premier Doug Ford about his late crack-addicted brother Rob Ford. Doug Ford retaliated by telling Trump to “Kiss my ass.” Trump then retaliated to that by re-naming Lake Ontario “Lake America” –which change only applies in the US–no where else in the entire world.
We’re in the twilight Zone now folks. And, just this morning I learned why this entire tariff mess happened. Below is the most important video you will watch this month at least. Claus Kellerman gives the backstory to how it all started:

What happened was that when Trump took office the first time he declared that NAFTA needed to be re-negotiated. NAFTA had a clause in it that stipulated Canada was legally bound to supply the US with Alberta oil “proportionally”. In other words, no matter how tight the oil market became–Canada would have to give the same proportion of oil to the US–even if it was to the detriment of Canada.
Well, for whatever dumbkoff reason, Trump wanted to renegotiate this sweet deal and, in the CUSMA deal eventually signed by Canada, the US and Mexico, the clause about proportionality was DROPPED! Apparently, Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland outmaneuvered and out thought Trump and got this onerous obligation on Canada eliminated from the deal–that Trump at the time bragged was “the best deal in US History”.
LOL….what a laff.
Then, when Trump got back into office, he immediately started pressuring Canada and Mexico to redo the deal–no wonder–after the ballZ up that he made of it in his first term!
Canadian Prime Minister Carney said the deal that the US wanted to slip by Canada a week ago today included a clause that would force Canada to get permission from the US before diverting any of our oil to other trading partners. Of course, Canada was NOT going to make the same mistake it had made in the original NAFTA deal–letting the US control our natural resources–THAT would, of course, make us the 51st State.

Of course, now Trump has reverted to bragging about all the oil he’s stealing from Venezuela–after criminally kidnapping Nicolas Maduro [and his wife] the President of Venezuela. I just heard a rumour today that the US is fighting some sort of highly covert military confrontations in South America at the moment.
I wonder if the Venezuelans and/or their allies have FINALLY begun to fight back on behalf of that benighted country. I confess to having a re-occurring nightmare where PM Carney is kidnapped by Trumps SWAT goons and dragged to a NYC jail like Maduro…
